Mission Statement

Northside Baptist Christian School offers parents a tool in providing students ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE with a BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW leading them to learn and apply the truth of God’s Word in their lives.

We incorporate our Christian faith into our entire curriculum and give students the tools to learn and think for themselves. We strive to operate as an extension of the family under the Biblical principle that education is primarily the responsibility of the family. (Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Ephesians 6:1-4)

We lead students to love God with all of their heart, soul, mind and strength. We, as Christian leaders, will guide students by our own example of living out faith in our families, the local church, community and world.

The foundation of Northside Baptist Christian School is the Word of God as interpreted by the following statement of faith:

We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament as verbally inspired of God, inerrant in the original writings. They are of supreme and final authority in faith and life. (II Timothy 3:16)

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.  He is true God and true man. (Matthew 1:19-20)

We believe that man and woman were created by God. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Man and woman sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God, and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature. All are sinners in thought, word, and deed. (Genesis 1:27, 2:7, 3:6-24; Romans 5:9)

We believe God ordained and defined marriage as between one man and one woman (Gen. 2:18-25). We believe that God intends for sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and woman who are married to each other while pledging their mutual faithfulness (1 Cor. 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb. 13:4; 1 Thess. 4:3).

We believe in the sanctity of life (each child is a gift from God whose life begins at conception) and the protection of our children both before and after birth. (Matthew 18:5,6; Mark 9:42; Luke 17:2)

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice.  All who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. (Isaiah 53:4-5)

We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven, and in His present life there as our High Priest and Advocate. (Matthew 28:1-7, Acts 1:9-11, Hebrews 1:3)

We believe in “that blessed hope,” the personal imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  (I Thessalonians 4:13-17)

We believe that all who by faith receive the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and become the children of God. (John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9)

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust and in the everlasting, conscious punishment of the lost.  (II Corinthians 5:10, II Timothy 4:8, Revelation 20:11-15)

We believe that the local church is the body of born-again, baptized (immersed) believers organized for worship, service, and fellowship. The two ordinances of the church are baptism (immersion) and the Lord’s Supper.  The local church is an autonomous and self-governing body responsible alone to Christ who is Savior and Lord. (I Corinthians 1:1-19, Acts 8:36-39, I Corinthians 11:17-28)

Northside Baptist Christian School forms a partnership with the home and family to help educate students and to guide them in the development of biblical character that is practiced in a biblical lifestyle.  The Bible is the basis for determining what qualities or characteristics exemplify a Christ-like life.

The atmosphere or conduct in a particular home or activities of the teacher should support the biblical lifestyle the school teaches.  This includes, but is not necessarily limited to, participating in, supporting, or condoning, sexual immorality, homosexual or bisexual/transgender activity, drunkenness, illegal drug use, witchcraft, promoting such practices, or being unable to support the moral principles of the school.

(For biblical reference, please see Galatians 5:16-26; Ephesians 4: 17 – 5:7; Romans 1:18-32)

Statement of School/Church Relationship

Northside Baptist Christian School is one of many ministries of Northside Baptist Church.  It is not separate or apart from the church.  The church is the sole steward and overseer of the properties, operation, program and personnel of the school, under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Separation of church and state is maintained.  No outside influences may govern the school’s intended purposes, objectives, and policies.  (Proverbs 22:6, II Timothy 2:15, Acts 5:42).

The pastor, principal, and school board are elected  and appointed by the church.  They are, under God, responsible to the church.  As a ministry of Northside Baptist Church, the pastor is the leader of the school as well as of all the other ministries of this church.
